Intention to Create a Compassionate Calendar
Dear Friend,
When was the last time you had a completely clear weekend. One where you can just wake up and hang around?!
This weekend was just that. I have to keep pinching myself that this is real. A weekend free in October as a seasoned photographer is next to near unheard of!
One of my sessions for yesterday got moved to the following weekend, and I jump right back in with a family session Monday morning.
But from Friday, Saturday, & Sunday to have NOTHING but family fun to experience, I must say, I feel like I’m on top of the world!
I think to myself, “why do I make my calendar so unbearable?!” as I continue to schedule things like a robot is supposed to execute each task.
It isn’t very compassionate of me, the scheduler, to put so much turmoil on myself, the person who has to do all the things.
Trying to remember that I am the CEO, the creator, and the boss, I get to create the calendar that feels compassionate, not cramped.
Have you heard of Compassionate Calendaring?
It’s simply a way of creating meeting times & the schedule for tasks that is considerate of other’s needs. This also includes being compassionate with ourselves, which is focusing on the breaks we need, the time in which we can do things without stress, and putting first the way we should feel before making any plan permanent.
When we can start with empathizing with ourselves, when we have to complete the task, we will receive the outcome of the spaces, the breaks, and the flexibility needed that will create a much more enjoyable experience.
If you are like me, Sunday evenings are when I review my week of meetings & commitments, events and activities, and confirm each appointment on my calendar.
You can take this time to move things around, reschedule, or simply take things off if they don’t serve you anymore or with compassion.
All of this is related to our theme of the month, Grinding Less, Impacting More.
Taking things OFF your calendar or moving tasks or activities in the places in your timeline & life that feel so much less resistance is a way to create a greater outcome and result for you & your business.
Do you have one thing you can shift around yoru calendar this week to make it more “compassionate” toward your business & others?
With two events left of the 2024 year, take this pause to work on your business at CEO Days!
Also, if you have felt the physical feeling of resistance or pain in your body, I’d highly recommend you get connected with someone like Kira Macoun. She will be speaking Wednesday morning 9:15am at the virtual West Suburban Women Belong circle meeting. Her spotlight presentation will highlight Somatic Movement, a mind-body conscious practice to enhance physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
