Intention to Eliminate Stressors

Stress is good for you. Let me rephrase- stress can help you do things that you otherwise would put off or completely neglect.

Do you ever feel like the stress of having to do something or even thinking about doing it, helps you to get things done?

That's what I feel about writing these emails on Sundays while we have other plans for the morning, since I know if I don't get this message to you, you'd wonder “what am I going to do without Dana's Sunday Intentions this week!?” and it would screw everything up. I bet you that's exactly what happens :P

All joking aside, I want to talk about stressors that consistently, habitually enter into your day and interfere with your work performance, your passion, and the ability to thrive as a business owner.

Stress can be helpful, but poorly placed stressors that are always showing up is a quick and simple way to lose passion and throw in the towel.

Some of these are:

  • Going to bed too late and skipping your morning routine, waking with a start and neglecting self-care

  • Not time-blocking your projects in your calendar and letting meetings seep in that force you to push your deadlines and disappoint your clients.

  • Neglecting to do your admin tasks on Friday afternoons making you oblivious to your numbers and panicking when your accounts are dangerously low from overspending

  • If you are a parent, disappointing your family when you have to miss personal events since you haven't taken the time to create simple systems and automating your calendar with your personal ones, double-booking yourself.

Here are just a few, but I know there are real stressors you experience in your day-to-day, not exactly “stress,” but things that keep coming up.

I recently have been tracking what stressors consistently show up for me by wearing this device called the Oura ring.

Here are some of the insights of wearing the ring for about a month now, and how I'm learning the difference between stressors within the poor habits I've created and stress to do a great job while at work.

Join our upcoming CEO Days to explore more about how you can eliminate stressors, cut things out, and create more sustainable, passionate habits that drive you closer to your business success on November 5th!
