🌟GOALS 🌟 Do they produce more Anxiety or Enjoyment?
Seriously, why did I spend the entire July/ August theme on “business vacation” concepts?
Is it because I am complaining about COVID not allowing me to travel? Absolutely not. It’s because there is a true problem I want to rise to the surface about enjoyment in the everyday - what you eat for lunch, how you are preparing for your meetings, if you are actually asking yourself, “do I enjoy this or should I outsource it?”
On Friday, I had made a charcuterie plate for lunch, had my “leave a message” hat on between meetings to give myself a visual que on slowing down, and was sipping on a mix of Raspberry + Lime La Croix with some soft lounge music playing as I took all of my afternoon calls- even took some calls OUTSIDE in the sunshine!
Why?
Because I really wanted to, it was excellent for my body to move, groove, and get some sunlight. It was so amazing for my clients & connections that I was showing up 100% and energized for them.
….And simply because I’m the boss and I am the only one who suffers if I don’t chase this.
Here are 3 things that I have included in my goal-setting that I will change your goals from being energy-sucking to recharing and enjoyable:
Create an environment surrounding your goals that embrace all-senses engaged feelings of pleasure & enjoyment
Establish boundaries within yourself that are incorporated into your goals such as energy boundaries, rest boundaries, time boundaries, and preparedness boundaries that invite the goals to fit into your actual life, not some machine-like stuff.
Work on your goals alongside your life, not in replacement of your life. Add in your goals to who you are that will reduce the amount of real-world suffering that you will cause yourself.
My question is- why do your short- term goals cause you anxiety? Why do your long-term goals break out to such miserable short-term goals that aren’t fun?
This week’s Intentions
I intend to make a day at the office anything I want it to be. Seeing what a completely draining, exhausting, unproductive, and definitely not fun day looks like & making the choice to create seriously the best day ever surrounded by all-senses engaged experiences for my sight, tough, smell, comfort, etc.
With a year like we’ve had in 2020, can we all agree: Life is so short! It’s precious, and it’s not worth feeding our brains, our mouths, and our businesses with fear-based panic, anxiety, and frustration when guess what, those are the things that keep us from experiencing the IMPACT we want to make on this world.
I have so much I want to share with you about being who you really are when you subtract these painful emotions from your business & job title. Especially from your marketing & online presence. I’ve got a couple freebie events coming up that I would love to guide you, step-by-step, to achieve this if you are open to it.
Have an intentional rest of your weekend!
