What do "farts + marketing" have in common to address our CLIMATE CRISIS??!
I'll explain below, but first- have you heard of Twitter farts?
This #WorldViewWednesday, I'm reading.
I decided to ditch the field trip today for #WorldViewWednesday to conserve CO2 and pull out a good paperback to escape the screen for my afternoon.
I don't EVER read books unless they are 100% entirely for educational purposes only to propel my business forward. Also because I fall asleep after reading 2 pages at a time. I'm completely strange that like and as you can imagine, it takes me a REALLY long time at a rate of just 2 pages a night to get through a book.
Well, I was able to finish others more quickly than others, but this one stood out- it all started with The 12 Week Year, a book by Book by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington where I learned about the word EFFICIENCY.
I've also selected this word to be my March theme of the month, look at that!
Tweet Fart:
The energy it takes to send a tweet generates .02 grams of CO2.1 With 500 million tweets sent daily2, a total of 10 metric tons of CO2 are emitted per day.
HOLD THE PHONE- Being more efficient in your business tasks & marketing efforts can truly save the world???
Umm yeahhhh- being more efficient is key.
You've got everything working for you in a fraction of the time and your focus is locked in tight. And you aren't harming the planet with extra junk you are posting, sharing, and talking about in-depth online.
In marketing it may look like this:
Clarity on who's hanging out in your community - and they are amazing! No Debbie- Downers or tire kickers. Just action-takers and true believers.
Your day/ week/ month planned out so you can start working at 9, stop around 5, and hang out with the family without anxiety or stress afterward
Focus on sharing only the "good" in your business that is changing the world, because let's face it, we already know people want to hear nothing else but what you can do FOR THEIR CAUSE!
(PS. Marketing plans help you with the above.)
You know where I'm getting at by now as part of my hub for quite some time: connect with people, make them feel missed, and do it in a way that you aren't wasting everyone's time, the world's CO2 with extra tweet farts (yes, this is a real thing) and you get to hang out with what's more important to you than on your computer all day wishing and hoping to grow your business.
Just remember, everything we do on our phones, and when we pick them up, burns energy somewhere. When we load websites, when we write a social post, and when we are scrolling through and just aimlessly tapping and clicking. More on this from my friend, Tim Frick, CEO of MightyBytes
I hope this made you smile, or even laugh today.Until Monday-
I'll get back to reading Fanocracy, a novel suggested by my trusted friend, Tamsin Woolley Barker that I'm already on page 12 (in just one day!)
